  Spoke over the phone after having no luck with the Australian post call centre. Absolutely brilliant helped straight away. Great community post office.

  Being a grandparent in the UK with family in Oz is not easy, especially when your grandson's 3rd birthday is approaching and he is off-road touring Queensland with his parents (our daughter and son-in-law). However, knowing they were heading for Cairns I called the owner of Machans Beach post office and asked if he would be willing to hold mail for them until they arrived, which he kindly agreed to do, saying he would see that it was set aside ready for our grandson to collect. We have just had a phone call from a delighted grandson thanking us for his birthday presents and cards and our daughter was thrilled with the excellent service offered by this PO.
